What About Workforce? June 2021 Update

by April Mottram, NHPHA Executive Director

NHPHA hosted our year end celebration event for the 2020-2021 Public Health Mentoring Program on May 13th.  Mentors and mentees participating in the program convened virtually to celebrate and reflect what they learned as a result of participating in the program.  The event was used as an opportunity to gather feedback about the program.  This feedback will be reviewed, and the input will help guide the programming for the next cohort which will start in the fall of 2021.  Additional details about this cohort will be shared as soon as the details are finalized.

The Mentoring Programis focused on current public health undergraduate students, public health graduate students, and emerging public health professionals. This program is an opportunity for experienced public health professionals to make a positive impact on the career and professional development of emerging public health professionals. These emerging professionals have the opportunity to network and explore a variety of public health careers to learn more about the industry.

NHPHA will be spending the month of June working to develop a survey for assessing the training and technical assistance needs of the NH public health workforce.  This survey will be deployed statewide, and the information gathered will be used to develop a webinar training series to address the highest needs identified in the survey.
