Why It Matters:
The Trump administration has intensified immigration enforcement efforts, including the deployment of additional ICE officers and the removal of restrictions on enforcement in sensitive locations such as courthouses and health care facilities. Some NH law enforcement agencies have taken on unprecedented federal immigration enforcement roles. These actions have led to increased fear among both immigrant and New American communities, causing some individuals to avoid seeking necessary medical care. Health care and service providers are seeking guidance on how to navigate these complex situations while upholding their ethical and legal responsibilities.
This event is part of NHPHA's ongoing commitment to promoting health equity and ensuring that all individuals, regardless of immigration status, have access to safe and respectful health care services.
