Inclusive Emergency Management: Planning “With” Not “For”

Join the New Hampshire Public Health Association (NHPHA) and The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies for a training on Inclusive Emergency Management: Planning “With” Not “For”.

This training will cover:

• The difference between planning for disabled people and planning with disabled people and disability-led organizations.

• Strategies to identify common barriers that prevent disabled people and people with access and functional needs from fully participating in emergency planning, response, recovery, and mitigation.

• Strategies for meaningful engagement, co-design, and partnership with disability communities before disasters occur.

• The roles of Centers for Independent Living, disability-led organizations, and other community partners in emergency management.

• Strategies for integrating disability inclusion and whole-community engagement across all phases of emergency management.
