BOARD PRESIDENT
TERM: April 2023 – April 2024 Denise K. PouliotDenise K. Pouliot is the Sag8moskwa (Female Head Speaker) of the Cowasuck Band of the Pennacook Abenaki People and a traditional Abenaki artist. She currently serves as Treasurer for COWASS North America and as Treasurer for the Abenaki Nation of Vermont. She is a member of the New Hampshire Commission on Native American Affairs (NHCNAA), an Affiliate Faculty member of the UNH Native American and Indigenous Studies Minor at the University of New Hampshire, a member of the New Hampshire Department of Justice Steering Committee for the Violence Against Women Act - Domestic Violence, and a member of the Race & Equality in NH Series Advisory Group, New Hampshire COVID-19 Equity Task Force (NHPHA), and New Hampshire Food Alliance. Ms. Pouliot is also an Indigenous religious advisor for the United States Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and currently provides religious services to incarcerated inmates in federal and state prison systems. In 2017 she received an award from the BOP for her many years of contributions and service.

TERM: April 2023 – April 2025 Scott Power, MBAScott Power is an experienced business executive with over 30 years of broad industry experience in finance, operations, sales management, and executive leadership positions. Scott is currently a tax accountant with Youngclaus & Company. His previous positions include Founder & President of Power Talent Advisors, Inc., Vice President of Operations for a technology reclamations company, and Senior Director of Supply Chain Strategy for a major apparel and footwear brand. Scott earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.

TERM: April 2023 – April 2024 Jennifer DemilleJennifer Demille is a rising senior public health major with minors in business administration and healthcare management with a track to complete her MBA with a specialization in project management from Colby-Sawyer College. She is currently the treasurer of the public health club at Colby-Sawyer College, which informs and educates students on campus about current public health issues. Her public health interest is strongly focused on substance abuse prevention, as she had a family member suffer from substance abuse. She is passionate about both the treatment and prevention of substance abuse within her community and beyond. Jennifer was a part of the NHPHA mentorship program in 2021 and subsequently served as the student representative for the Board of Directors in 2022-2023.

BOARD DIRECTOR
TERM: April 2023 – April 2025 Rik Cornell, MSWRik Cornell began his career as a mental health worker at The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester in 1973. While still an undergraduate student, he quickly moved on to roles in emergency services, child and adolescent treatment, and numerous community efforts, like being on the Board of Directors to develop Manchester's first women's crisis center's safe home. Through these experiences, he decided to do social work as his lifelong career; Cornell earned his MSW from BUSSW in 1987. Upon receiving his LICSW, he was appointed Assistant Director and soon the Clinical Director of the MHCGM-sponsored group practice called Bedford Counseling Associates.
He remained the Director for over fifteen years. Today, Cornell serves as MHCGM's Vice president for Community Relations, Development, and promoting mentally healthy communities. He works to protect the right of advocacy at both community and state levels. His work is filled with fundraising efforts, promoting community awareness of the needs of those with mental illness. Rik is often a guest speaker talking about the need to understand suicide and how we all can play a part in helping to stop it. He also speaks frequently on Trauma Stewardship. He is a certified "Mental Health First Aid" trainer and has a small clinical practice. Boston University School of Social Work Alumni Association recently awarded him the "Outstanding Career in Social Work." Rik says, "I do this work every day because having a mental illness is a scary and lonely journey, and nobody should ever have to travel that road alone." |

TERM: April 2023 – April 2025 Jodi Harper, MSWJodi joined the AHEC team in 2017 as a Project Director, helping to lead programs that expose high school youth to health career opportunities. She was recently named Associate Director, where she supports the mission of Southern NH AHEC and works to help expand opportunities for NH residents to participate in and lead classes helping others manage their chronic conditions.
As someone with a few chronic diseases herself, Jodi enjoys spreading the word about these classes and programs that have helped her better manage her health. She graduated with her Master’s in Social Work in May 2018 from Boston College School of Social Work and is working towards becoming a LICSW. Jodi has extensive experience working with diverse populations through her work as the Program Director at "BRING IT!!!" and has developed a real love of the mandazi her former students still share with her from time to time. When she’s not working, you can often find Jodi enjoying the company of a good book, going for a nature walk, exploring new gluten-free recipes, or getting crafty with yarn and fabric. |

TERM: April 2023 – April 2025 David Li, PhD, MBA, MA
David Li, PhD, MBA, MA is the director of the Masters Public Health Program and clinical associate professor at the Department of Health Management and Policy, College of Health and Human Services at the University of New Hampshire. He is also the founder and principal of Sprouts International, LLC (a healthcare consulting firm) providing business development planning and financial strategies to healthcare institutions, physician groups and government agencies. He has been an adjunct faculty member at the School of Health and Human Services at UNH. Previously he was senior vice president for the Elliot Health System and Elliot Hospital for 15 years. Prior to his tenure at Elliot, David held a variety of senior administrative and management positions within the Department of Health and Human Services of New Hampshire. He received his Ph.D. from Brandeis University in Health Policy and Management, his MA in Social Policy from the Heller Graduate School, Brandeis University, and his MBA with a concentration in Health Care Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Southern New Hampshire University. He was also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He was a board member of the University of New Hampshire, Manchester, Advisory Board, and board member of St. John International University in Italy. He has been an international health care consultant and keynote speaker to China’s government, hospitals, healthcare association, hospital accreditation agency (Joint Commission International), and academic and research institutions since 2003.

TERM: April 2023 – April 2025 Lyn Lindpaintner, MD
Lyn Lindpaintner is a retired physician living in Concord. She received a teaching degree from Oberlin College in 1974, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in 1977, and completed medical studies at CWRU School of Medicine in 1984 and Board certification in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. She taught at Harvard Medical School and practiced in Boston prior to moving to Basel, Switzerland, with her family in 1997. Her career has combined clinical medical practice with academic positions in the U.S. and Switzerland, focusing on clinical education and translational research promoting multi-professional collaborative innovation in the care of frail elderly. Her public health interests include protecting vulnerable populations, reproductive health, reducing childhood adverse events, and strengthening the public health infrastructure. In 2012 she returned to the U.S. to practice Internal Medicine and Geriatrics and served as Medical Director of Elder Care Services at Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire until she retired from clinical practice in 2018.

TERM: April 2023 - April 2025 Adriana Espitia, MPHAdriana Espitia, MPH, is a Consultant at JSI Research & Training Institute, where work centers primarily on providing training and technical assistance at both the state and federal levels. Ms. Lopera has experience working on public health topics such as health equity, maternal and child health, patient safety, and the substance use continuum of care. She has previously worked in state government and hospital settings in Massachusetts. Ms. Lopera was a 2018 Fellow of the NH Chapter of the New Leaders Council and later served on its board. She holds a MPH from Boston University and a BA from Columbia University.

TERM: April 2023 – April 2025 Richard A. Minard, Jr., MPARick Minard is the executive director of Building Community in New Hampshire, an organization that helps refugees navigate their way to healthy, safe, prosperous, and connected lives in New Hampshire. Under his leadership, BCNH won the NH Center for Nonprofits’ 2021 Nonprofit Impact Award.
Rick started his career as a reporter at the Keene Sentinel and was the editorial page editor of Valley News. He has been Executive Director of the Harvard University Center for the Environment, President of NH Audubon, Co-Director of the NH Center for Public Policy Studies, Vice President for Policy at the NH Community Loan Fund, and Deputy Director of the New Hampshire Office of Energy and Planning. Rick graduated with high honors from Harvard College, earned a master of public administration degree from the Harvard Kennedy School, and attended the Centre for Journalism Studies at University College, Cardiff, Wales. Rick lives in Bow. |

TERM: April 2023 – April 2025 Paula Williams, EdD, CAGS, RN
Paula Williams is the Dean of the Division of Nursing and Health Professions. In this role, she provides leadership and strategic direction to Rivier’s largest academic programs, including an A.S. in Nursing, BSN, RN-BSN, four master’s-level programs, and the Doctorate in Nursing Practice. With her leadership, River has attained the highest level of accreditation status with the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Dr. Williams generously extends herself to community initiatives, including service on the N.H. Action Coalition Steering Committee; Nashua Public Health Executive Advisory Board; New Hampshire Nurses Association; American Nurses Association; National League for Nursing; Organization of Nurse Leaders; Sigma Theta Tau, International; St. Joseph Hospital Mobile Health Van and Executive Implementation Committee; and numerous advisory boards for nursing programs throughout the state. Dr. Williams has secured million-dollar grants from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to support underrepresented students in the nursing profession. Most recently, she was the principal writer for a $1.2 million grant in support of behavioral health nursing workforce development and a $2.04 million grant for expanding primary care and community health experience for undergraduate nursing students. |

TERM: April 2023 – April 2025 Michael Young, MEd, PhD
Michael Young is the Program Team Leader for Health & Well-Being programs. He has worked in the field of experiential education for over 25 years. Mike has worked at UNH Extension since 2009. He has served as the Rockingham County 4-H Educator, the NH State 4-H Leader, and the Youth & Family Program Team Leader. Prior to his work with UNH Cooperative Extension, Mike worked in the field of outdoor education with a focus on youth at risk. Mike holds a BA in History from Brown University, an MEd from Harvard School of Education, and a Ph.D. in Education from UNH.
