Tory Jennison PhD, RN
Interim Executive Director Tory Jennison is the Interim Executive Director of the New Hampshire Public Health Association.
She brings over 25 years of experience as a population health and preparedness thought leader, nurse, and community agitator. Her recent work includes complex system and population health consultation on strategy, facilitation, program design, and evaluation in a number of essential public health spaces including large-scale, high budget/value, multi-dimensional projects for leaders in Strafford County, NH; the University of Texas Health Science Center (San Antonio); the City of Portsmouth, NH and multiple NH public health networks. Dr. Jennison’s eclectic practice areas include population health systems, program design and evaluation, supportive/SUD housing, emergency sheltering, street medicine, community health profiling, assessment, and improvement planning, and long-term services & supports. She recently spent 5 years as the Director of Population Health for Connections For Health, a Medicaid 1115/DSRIP Waiver funded integrated delivery network project in the Seacoast/Strafford County region of NH, where she worked to build stronger, more integrated and resilient networks of clinical care and social support for vulnerable populations. During that tenure, Dr. Jennison was re-assigned to support Covid response efforts at the NH state Emergency Operations Center in Concord for 4 months, where she provided technical expertise to the Emergency Support Functions 6 (Mass Care & Human Services) and 8 (Public Health and Medical Services) to help the state craft a Covid preparedness, mitigation, and response plan for vulnerable populations that included standing up quarantine and isolation sites for unsheltered residents. She holds a BS in Nursing and Masters in Nursing Administration from the University of New Hampshire, completed DNSc coursework in policy and health systems at Yale, and earned her PhD in Public Affairs with a concentration in health services management and research from the University of Central Florida. She has clinical and leadership experience in emergency medicine, FQHC primary care, home care, conflict medicine, public health, data and informatics, research, education, service learning, health technology and emergency management up and down the East Coast. She has worked in Public Health Preparedness and Continuum of Care Coordinator roles in New Hampshire public health networks and led activation of more than 80 nights of extreme weather emergency sheltering over the last 6 years in the Seacoast of NH, in large part because she believes the phrase "Somebody should do something” is a call to action. |
